Just want to let you guys know that Kevin and I have been in contact with Rick. He is a principal at an elementary school. He said that we can start going to the gym for some indoor flying. So go to the local hobby store and get some indoor flying objects!

I will let everyone know when the first time will be. Would everyone prefer an evening during the week, or a day on the weekend?

Unfortunatly I am out of town this past week (end), BUT, built a couple new foamies for indoor season and am looking forward flying them rather than see them lay around the apt.

Built up a new pattern model. Osiris, right now all white (need to add some paint yet) but come in RTF at little over 4oz.

Got it all trimmed out at an indoor place over the holiday (back in IN).

Also have 2 new freestyle models coming from a friend of mine back in Dayton, Ohio. He is very skilled builder/painter/designer. So looking forward to those also.

Hows the MX coming along Don?

Hi Nick,

We've been celebrating our 39th Wedding anniversary this past weekend so I just opened up the MX-2 box today. I'm ready and anxious to get started on the build. Also, the Motor, ESC and the aileron servo arm just came in the mail today. Now, I'm waiting for the servos (S3154's) to come in in the next couple of days.

I just need a little time to get it together now!

Just to let everyone know, the indoor fly in was great. I guess we would always like to have a place that is a little larger, but I had no trouble flying my 28" 3D foamy. If we start flying regularly, some other options might present themselves. Several people showed up, and we had plenty of good crashes.

I will talk to Rick to find out when the next one will be...hopefully soon. I felt bad for him. He was having trouble getting his little P-51 to fly good. I wanted to help him, but didn't want to ask. I do think everyone had a good time. Dan Grey lent some kids a couple of his cheap planes. And I handed off my MCX to the kids. Nice to see how fast they learn.

I hope we can get some more to make it out next time. We are thinking of getting some MSR races going. Possibly an obstacle course for the little helis and the Vapors. I know I now have both of them on my "wanted" list.

All so maybe recommend some planes based on the size of flying space.

Personally, I like the Vapor and the MSR. I would like to try the P-51 Mustang, but I have not had the opportunity yet. I enjoy my foamy the most, but I would like to make one scaled down a little. Mine is 28" wingspan. It flew fine, but I'm no Nick. So I had to be careful. I want to also try a foresight when they come out.

Maybe we can talk Jarrett into bringing the Hobby Shop demo planes and helis out next time so people can try them out.

Thanks for the recommend's! Thats about my luck, I finished my 32" foamy and it sounds like it will be a little big??? I agree the 4site looks to be the plane... Are you scaling that plane down yourself? Into foam building? How much for a kit?

Kevin and I are going to build a couple of the 28" models this Saturday. I will have one of them available for anyone that would like to fly it. Don't worry, I'll bring glue and extra props just in case. I will try to set prices after that. I will sell just the foam cut out. I will also try to offer with carbon fiber and hardware at a later date. I am going to take some pictures while we build ours to do a build thread in the plane section. I also hope to get Nick to fly it while I video so people can see what the plane can actually fly like. On the build thread I will list all hardware used. After I finish that, I will work up a smaller version.

We will definately do some flying while you are down. I am off work from Dec 24th - Jan 3rd. So we will also try to get a indoor date in there as well.

I gave the cap 232 (foamy) a maiden and as I suspected, it would be a handful in the gym. So I keep looking for a smaller one!
