I own one. Haven't had a chance to install it anything yet. That's the hard part deciding on what to put it in. I have a Trex 250 right now and am trying to decide on whether I should get a 500 or a 600 to put the Heli command in. I like the larger size of the 600 but the battery options of the 500 are a bit easier to deal with.

Jason,
I'm thinking about getting a Helicommand for my 600n as I can't always find the time to fly with our group. Local talent here in the Portland Oregon area Kenny McDonald buddy boxed me, now I'm thinking a HC might help me progress faster as I would have a co-pilot of sorts. Did you install it in your 250? Curious as to whether HC was fast enough with a bird that quick? Mel |

No I never did put it on the 250. The unit is just to big for it. Already have a CC BEC unit and a PH 25 on the little heli. The HC unit really isn't made for anything smaller than a 450 sized heli.
I've made up my mind and after tax returns come back I'm getting a Trex 500 to use with the HC. Jason

I have 3 rigid versions ; one on a raptor 30, one on a 400 class revo cp and one on the robbe eolo with the robbe conversion set.
I need to say that my flying skills are limited and that is a reason i got them in the first place. One thing i have not yet been fully succesfull with is the position hold feature; so far i still get some drift. What does work well is the level feature it works (depending on version) both normal and inverted. The reason i have chosen the rigid version (only firmware is diferent) is the reduced mechanics. In flying there is relative little diference in how the helies handle even the 400 class. Setting them up is a skill you need to learn and might take some time to get into but the software makes it mutch eazier. I think the biggest "weakness" is the manual wich is not as good as it should be. ANd depending on your taste it might be a limitation that its a 2 part design ; a small connector board and main unit. Since i bought all mine used of wich one had a defect and one needed a firmware upgrade (both a recall and a to the rigid version) i had some experience with capton service and so far it has been done right; both email support and repair service. The fast forward flying and 3d performance is something i can not comment on since i focus more on learning hovering in all orientations. |
