Default Rave manual

I am hoping the new Rave ENV manual is as nice as the little Rave manual.

I know the Manual will be outstanding.... Brian, you're definately the Man!

After helping a friend finish building his foamy (Extra 300S), I have to say, that company doesn't seem to have a clue as to how to put together a manual or take pictures. I've never gone over a manual so many times to try and figure out what they were trying to indicate. And, the poor quality photos were not much help at all.

Also, can't wait till the build videos on the Rave ENV are available. It was simply great watching those you've already done on the Rave, Brian.

Thought I would jab at Brian a little as I know he is deep into making the manual right now and not loving it at this point. But the end result should be good.

Brian my friend, the small rave manual allready set the standard. I'm sure this one will make the other manufacturers green with ENV

P.S. I tried to attach a file from CY's gallery but it said it was an invalid photo.

I am doing my level best to make it very sweet. And I would like it just fine if I were done at this point.

Its comming along nicely actually. Making good progress.

I know this is jumping the gun.

On the build videos, I've seen some out there that I thought were pretty cool. The guy would show the parts laid out, explain the basic assembly for that step along with tips, then construct it while taping. The cool part is that he would speed up the assembly part of the video where it was common sense. And then play at regular speed the parts of the assembly that could use some attention. EX: On the Rave the trick of using an allen wrench to hold the servo mount plates to get the screws started, or video showing the gear meshing. This way, if someone wanted to, they could slow the video down in a place where they don't understand something. Even if it is in a place where most would think it is common sense.

Anyway just a thought.

PS - I know you are pretty busy, but you ought to come hang out with us at the flying field sometime. Maybe even bring something to fly!

I am not sure which videos you are reffering to. Perhaps you can post a link to one of them so I can get an idea of what you are talking about. If it is the build videos for the little Rave, I did those. And I am sure we will likely do the same thing for the ENV at some point. At least that is my plan, but like everything else sometimes plans change. We shall see how it goes.

On the little Rave, you would lay the parts out, talk about the assembly, then cut the camera off while you assembled. The next shot would be the assembly together. I am suggesting the same thing, except not cutting the camera off while you assemble. On steps where there are two sides, just speed up the tape on the second half so the videos aren't too long.

I'll try to remember where I seen that and post a link.

We did that to save time and to keep the size of the videos down. The videos would have been twice as long as they were. And to be honest those videos took over a week to make. I will see if we can do that, but I cannot promise it can be done. We will see.

I'm sure one of us(me) would do up a really nice video if that person(me) would be able to keep the finished product. What a nice gesture that would be to that person(me) that did all that video work for you guys.

To be honest I am sure the first of the kits will not be a huge number, so I will likely use my first one to do the videos. But I certainly appreciate the offer. Of course at the end of the day it is up to Curtis. But all of this type of stuff kind of falls under what my job is all about. But again, thank you very much for the offer. You never can tell, it might just happen.

BLT4ICE - I certainly appreciate your "work for heli" plan there.

No problem I'm with Jacki, but I'm more of a builder than a flyer Hopefully that will change soon.

There is nothing better in this hobby then sitting in my basement with my cats fighting the kids fighting and me in my world reading instructions and assemling some nice machined parts.
