Hi Nick,
I was wondering if you post your event schedule anywhere? I can only hope to someday be able to make it to one of the "big" heli events, although I don't imagine many of them are in or anywhere near Canada... As well, while I'm posting anyway, I figured I might try and get some validation of my plan for my first heli! - Raptor 50 Titan SE (w/Redline, Governor) - Futaba 10CHG Radio - S9252 cyclic servos (x3) - GY401 Gyro w/S9254 - S9202 on throttle I don't know if you have personal experience with any or all of this, but any insight or thoughts you can provide would be awesome! Another month or so and I'll be back home and able to get started on this plan of mine, but until then I'll have to settle for more dust, day-dreaming, and practicing on RealFlight... Denis |

Hey Denis,
Will get an event list together and post it up! Im not sure how close you are to Toronto, but they host an EXCELLENT funfly. Mike Wilson is the host and CD and you can't go wrong by attending. As for the set-up, that will work great. I have quite a bit of expeirence with all the products listed except the Raptor 50, and the Redline engine/gov. setup, but I'm sure there are plenty of resources, including Colin Bell, from Nova Scotia. His models always perform top notch and is one of the most approachable guys in the hobby. One thing to mention on the GY401 for the tail, try to get the limit as high as possible by moving the rudder servo arm ball in as close to the center, but still enough to get full travels left and right. That gives the gyro a little bit more resolution to work with, and really helps get the stops crisp. Other than that, have a safe trip home, and good luck getting it going. Thanks! Nick |

Thanks for the response Nick!
I'll definitely keep that in mind for the gyro setup. I've read a lot about setting up the various components but that is one I haven't heard yet. It looks like I'm going to miss the Toronto Fun Fly this year since it's in 2 weeks and I'm stuck in Afghanistan playing with real helicopters for another month, but I'll definitely keep that one in mind for next year! It's a solid 2-day drive to get there, but it's definitely possible. Denis |

Where do you live in Canada Denis?
At club CRASH (Bienvenue au club radio aéronautique spécialisé en hélicoptère) we have our Funfly Sept. 11 and 12, Matt Botos and Todd Benett will be with us. Nick came to our funfly in 2008. We are just 20 minutes north of Montreal. Hope to see you then.
