Default Is the ENV Electric going to work for me?

I've been wanting a 90 class machine for a while, but everybody keeps griping about fuel cost. What is the recommended setup for the ENV Electric going to be? I can buy two 6S 5000 batts for around $450, which equates to about 13 gallons of fuel. At 6 flights a gallon the cost of the batteries begins to make sense. Any charges beyond 78 are just icing on the cake.

Is the ENV going to fit the same bill as a Trex 700 conversion or a stretched Logo 700 ? I mostly just a sport flyer, but I still want the best I can get.

They released pricing on the Rave ENV, and you're looking at $800 for the airframe. I think that's probably going to end up about midway between a Trex 700 conversion and a stretched Logo?

As for battery costs, you can cut that $450 estimate in half unless you always buy "name brand". Turnigy 6S 5000 35c packs are $100 each, or Hyperions (which are rockin in my Knight 600E) are $191 each.

Either way, lipo prices have come down enough that my Knight 600E gets flown about 5x as much as my nitro Knight 3D. It wouldn't hurt my feelings to have a Rave ENV.

Honestly most of my experience with the Large electrics has been with NEU motors. I have not played around much with other options yet. So I do not presently have a lot of other suggestions for the good electric setup. I have been using the Castle 110 (or 85 for my FAI stuff) the Neu 1915 1.5Y and 5 or 6s 5000 or 6000 batteries. And it is very true that you can get these larger packs for quite a bit less now.

The good setups will likely be similar to the 700 as these machines are closer in size than the logo.

Anyone have recs for Scorpion motors and pinion counts for the ENV? What is a good headspeed range for mild 3D? Do headspeed settings change for flybarless?

For what it is worth, I've been flying my T-Rex 600 with the Scorpion 4025-890 and the CC HV-110 and both have been great.

Thanks

I have not figured out the optimum setup with the scorpion motors yet. With everything going on, I just have not gotten to it yet.

As for photos of the electric 3D ENV, I have it at Efest this weekend. Although I cannot fly it here, there will likely be photos of it from the weekend.
