The No Brainer is a 3d plane capable of most maneuvers. Originally I designed this plane as a very inexpensive 3d trainer. Although now it has proven to be able to handle most aerobatic stunts. The epp makes this plane extremely durable. Can easily be flown indoors and outdoors. Handle winds fine. I have even flown it in 10 mph winds just for the fun of it. Makes flying backwards just too easy. Excels in knife edge and hovering. The design of the kit makes for a fast and easy build. Over the next few days, I will be adding pictures and videos of the build. I welcome all feedback, as this is the first video series/build thread I have done.
I will also be listing all components that I used, as well as all adhesives and paints. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 9mm 1.9lb EPP .5mm x 3mm Carbon Fiber Strip 1mm x 2mm Carbon Fiber Tube Plastic Motor Mount Welder Glue, 3M 4475, 5 minute epoxy, or hot glue Dubro #602 Nylon Clevis x 8 1 - 9 gram servo (HXT 900) 2 - 5 gram servos (HXT 500) 8-12 amp esc 24 gram 1500-1700kv motor (Turnigy 2730-1700) 2s 300-700mah lipo GWS 9050 or 8x4.3 prop

Bobby, how are you securing the clevis to the cf rod?

I know what you mean Russ, I handed Nick a bare airplane and he just threw it around as if he had a hundred flights on it. He tweaked the cg a little, and then proceeded to do just about every maneuver that I have seen before. I did not even design it to do a lot of those. It was designed as a durable 3d trainer, but it performed awesome!
Ben, I realize this is hard to believe, but even Nick's plane has absolutely no glue holding the clevis to the cf. The carbon is 1mm x 2mm tube, that is just stuck into the end of the clevis. They are Dubro #602. Or you can also use the Chinese ones, 1.8mm or 2.0mm. If you watch the build video on "control rods for ailerons", you will see that if they are little tight, you can drill the clevis with a 5/64" or 2mm drill bit. The entire reason for the design is to allow the pilot to get aggressive with learning, without being afraid to tear up the airplane. I have had two depron planes, that as soon as I had a couple of crashes, that was it. Nick crashed his into the railroad tracks, picked it up and let it fly. I have crashed mine about thirty times with only one quick repair. KWMorris told me today that he finally had to make a quick repair after about 15 crashes. It will boost you confidence and allow anyone to progress much faster. So the carbon tube to clevis will allow for some give if there is a lot of force put on it. Sounds like a sales pitch, but just try one and give it back if you don't like it. Just give me a call or send me a PM if you have any questions. Bobby

I forgot to mention that I am uploading that video now. The installation of electronics video and trim video should be up tomorrow. I am going to do one video on painting with markers which will hopefully be up by next weekend. I am not sure if I am going to do one on airbrushing since there is already a good one on RCG.
Build time is one full day (to allow for glue to dry), or two evenings. Or none if you want one PNP.

I was thinking of getting one of the 3DEPP Planes but they're forever out of stock and I saw Kevin's today so I may have to get one from ya!

Let me know. I will make you a good deal as long as you fly it and give me some feedback. I am very open to ideas for improvements. I will have a PNP plane this Thursday that will be for sale, and hopefully a couple of kits if anyone is interested. The kits include all the foam pre-cut, carbon reinforcements cut to length, slits cut for carbon reinforcements, carbon tube for control rods, clevis, control horns, and motor mount. The PNP will have everything built and installed. Just add your receiver and go. I also have some batteries if you need them. Let me know if you are interested, and we can work out a price based on what you need.

Well, Ben you can't beat that! a plane with a warranty??? WTH But I will bet that after a few flights on that little cutie
you will be hooked. Try it on 3s around 500mha. It rocks! As for the repairs i've hot glued mine several + times. Still flies great. I might be interested in one of those kits Bobby
